I Love Stories

Stories are everywhere—woven into the songs we cherish, the books we read, and the films that move us. But the stories I treasure most are the true ones. The lived experiences of people who have known both joy and hardship. The lessons passed down from those who came before us.
What fascinates me most is the ability to glimpse life through their eyes—as if reading their personal field notes on what it means to live a full life.
Years ago, I received a transcript of an interview my uncle had done with my grandfather. He had taken the time to sit down with his father, asking him questions about his life. As I read through those words, I realized how much I didn’t know about my grandfather—things I never would have known if my uncle hadn’t asked and preserved them. In that moment, I understood something profound: our parents and grandparents carry field notes of entire generations. Notes about what it meant to grow up in a different time, to raise families, and to face the challenges of life. These stories are priceless—and yet, far too often, they are lost.
The idea to capture these stories has been with me for years. Only recently did I find the courage to bring it to life.
This is the heart of Lifelong Field Notes—a film production company dedicated to helping families preserve their loved ones’ stories. Taking the time to sit down with them as they share the stories of their life—in their own words, their own voice, their own presence.
This work is not just about documenting facts. It’s about honoring the wisdom, humor, and humanity that shine through in their stories. Every smile, every pause, every detail becomes part of a living legacy. These films are more than recordings; they are family heirlooms—field notes to be carried across generations. A reminder of where we come from, and a gift to those who will follow.
As the final chapter approaches, it would be my honor to capture the field notes of your loved one’s life—so their story continues, always.
